Guarantee Auction Sales – Banks that have already had to take possession of collateral through the foreclosure process have relied on PPL Group to maximize recovery through a form of sale known as a Guarantee Auction Sale. In a Guarantee Auction Sale, PPL Group provides the bank with a minimum guarantee amount – which protects the bank from losses resulting from a poor turnout on the day of the sale. If the “bring” is greater than the guarantee amount, PPL Group splits the proceeds (net of our expenses to conduct the sale) with the bank. Our bank clients have really appreciated how the features of this type of sale have mitigated their recovery risk while giving them the opportunity to maximize recovery values.
Note Purchases – In situations where our bank clients have a problem commercial & industrial loan scenario in which successful resolution has an unclear timeframe or appears altogether problematic, PPL Group can step in and purchase the loan. In many instances, PPL Group pays at or near par value for the bank notes we purchase. We are able to do this because of our ability to identify and extract value from the loan collateral. PPL Group typically closes on these purchases within 14 days of executing the bank’s confidentiality agreement and receiving a complete information package.
